Is sleeping in a chair good for you?

For instance, you should know that sleeping in an office chair isn’t necessarily bad as long as it doesn’t become a daily habit and you maintain an optimal position while you’re doing it. It would help if you also were careful with the amount of time you spend napping in the ergonomic office chair, as it may affect your regular sleep schedule.

How to sleep correctly in an office chair
1. Set the atmosphere.
Depending on what you have at hand, try to put yourself as comfortable as possible. Not many of us are allowed to have pillows at work, but if you happen to have one (and a blanket, perhaps), use it to your advantage. Remember to set a considerable temperature in the AC. Try to reduce the noise as much as you can, and turn off the lights when you’re ready to close your eyes.

The next step is simple: adjust the chair you’ll use as a bed for the next half an hour. If you happen to have an ergonomic chair with a footrest, it’s even better. You won’t have to struggle to find a good position to sleep.

3. Keep your feet elevated.
Once you’ve found out the optimal position, it is crucial for you to maintain your feet elevated to avoid feeling leg cramps when you wake up as a result of poor blood circulation.
If an extremity experiences poor blood circulation for too long, it may generate blood clots.
Once you’ve found a position you feel comfortable in, you may close your eyes and take your nap.
